Hennepin County Board Considers Creekside Funding: Awards Announced in December 2025

The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board submitted an application to the Hennepin County Board requesting $250,000 to help fund Creekside through the Hennepin County Youth Activities Grant. If we secure this funding, we can build next summer. Please talk to your Hennepin County Board member about how wonderful this project is!

The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board unanimously approved Resolution 2025-169, clearing the way for MPRB staff to apply for a Hennepin County Youth Activities Grant for Creekside. Minneapolis Community Clay Courts, with the generous help of the USTA Northern and USTA National has raised $165,000, If we get this grant, we can build Creekside next summer!

The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board will decide on 9/18/2025 whether to include Creekside in their request for funding from the Hennepin Youth Activities Grant. If approved, MCCC will work with MPRB staff to secure a significant amount of funding.
United States Tennis Association National Awards $70,000 for Creekside

USTA National has awarded MCCC a $70,000 grant to build the courts at Creekside. Adding that commitment to the $93,000 raised in 2024, we now have $163,000 raised for the $360,000 project.

Two individual donors offered to give $10,000 if MCCC could raise $10,000. The Senior Tennis Players Club also offered to give $1,000 if MCCC could raise $1,000 from it's members. Thanks to your help, and a $3,000 grant from Support the Courts, we did both. Thank you!

The Senior Tennis Players Club has offered to match dollar for dollars all donations from it's members (until the total reaches $1,000). If you are a member, please consider donating. If you are not, you can join for $30 and then donate!

MCCC Raises USTA Northern Challenge Grant!

In a little over 2 weeks, MCCC was able to raise the $10,000 necessary to release another $10,000 grant from the USTA Northern. Fifty three individuals made contributions totaling $8,031, and the Senior Tennis Players Club gave $2,000 to make the match. Our sincere gratitude goes out to USTA Northern for giving us a combined $25,000 this year!

Thanks to Chris and Lynda Stout for hosting our fall house party! We had 80 people attend and raised over $7,000! Help us raise $3,000 more to release that $10,000 grant from USTA Northern!

Creekside Project is USTA Northern Spotlight Charity for June

The USTA Northern made MCCC their Spotlight Charity for the month of June. All contributions raised during this one month period were matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000. MCCC was able to meet that challenge and add $10,000 to the Creekside initiative.
